I Aldiko and although he always does when you turn the books back in power, it is better then this app is 99 cents. He was responsible for turning the pages and then stopped after a few page turns. The shot on the corners on the sides to slow down and turn and horendous. Uninstalled and went back to Aldiko for now.

  • Aldiko eBook Reader Review : Not bad, but not perfect

Aldiko eBook Reader Review : Not bad, but not perfect

Pros: Shelf display of your books
Cons: I’ve had several force closes (Asus Transformer) and it caused a Droid2 Global to fully reboot.

The interface works and is very flexible, but there is something that irks me. I don’t like that you have to use the ‘add’ button to add to the library instead of just dropping in a folder on the SD card (as with Kindle or Nook). As a result, I need to move books to a temporary spot so it can copy them into its library, an unnecessary (to me) step. I’m sure it has to do with the indexing and library functions.

Overall, I think the Nook app is the best reader, but any books you put on yourself instead of from B&N goes into a “documents” area. Kindle is better than Aldiko but all files need to be converted to .mobi and won’t work with Adobe Digital Editions (library books, etc). So I rate this third place, but is still the one I use because I can see my library on a shelf, even books I buy from third party vendors or from Project Gutenberg.

  • Aldiko eBook Reader Review : Not too shabby

Aldiko eBook Reader Review : Not too shabby

eBooks can be read on the world below, it seems, and here’s one more drive in my machine. So far I have applications for the Kindle, Nook, Google, and now that choice. I made a mistake about each of them pretty, check what they have to offer and how they are easy to use.

Compared to the other three already mentioned, standing Aldiko in some ways. First of all, performance. Page flipping is quite slow and I was not able to find a way to change this place. It feels a bit slower in general browsing of the libraries. Second, it allows you to pick up several other libraries, while the other only with their own characteristics and public domain books for free stuck. Get these other libraries (catalogs) is installed quite easily, if you can find them. Before I had a few web searches and trial and error, I have successfully connected, and built in help Aldiko had nothing more to say except to go, how to add. At least it is already contained four different libraries. Finally, it is not as nice as the others. It is a matter of personal taste, as it is read with print / ebook, but it’s pretty important for me to mention.

I hope you have this review helpful. If not, please leave comments / questions.

Aldiko eBook Reader Review : I use Aldiko on Android 1.5

There are about different versions of this excellent ebook reader that I use on a v1 Archos 7 HT, which is limited Android 1.5. I bought the Archos seen as an ebook reader with Aldiko on another tablet Android. Very satisfied, never had a problem with the leaves, I know how the black for the battery life and easy on the eyes to read in the dark, very rarely do I get a small gap at the beginning of a new chapter where the text does not appear in the usual time, but seconds later he is there. I prefer this to my and my wife is JetBook Nook color. Everything must be in all, if you have an Android device, and read books on you with this great ebook reader.

Aldiko was the first player that I installed on my Android device a while ago. I always thought it was great, but a buggy update made me uninstall it and go to Kobo. Now I’m back in Aldiko and it’s better than ever before, mostly because I can read my books pdf. It makes you beautiful and every page linked to the page where I left off. I love it! No complaints. This app is a must!

  • Mantano Reader Review : Best Reader for HoneyComb Tablets

Mantano Reader Review : Best Reader for HoneyComb Tablets

    * 7 day free trial is available on Android Market.

Background: I have a lot of custom EPUB files. Some of them are going to 500MB. These contain tables with text items and images. Contents also multi, etc. I also have lot of PDF files, some going up to 80 MB. I really wanted to be able to read this, in fact, it was one of the reasons I got my tablet. Tried just about all players on the market, including Aldiko, Cool reader, FBReader, star book reader moon, etc. My current MyLib Android Tablet Samsung Galaxy 10.1.

Among all I wanted was by far beats all the others and worth $ 5. Here are the reasons, with a comparison to other epub reader.

    1) The presentation of EPUB
This uses the ADE (Adobe Digital Edition) engine. For those of you on the desktop, knows he is flying. If many other readers EPUB even took up 500MB minutes to open the file epub, ADE in 2 seconds. This act applies also Mantano RESSOP. Other players that I know uses ADE Aldiko. Sun is made essentially the same on both. Starbook MyLib and can not unzip the files and simply open the HTML standard, so his performance was great too. But others could not do my files.

    2) Stability
This is a major feature sets Mantano Aldiko outside what I would say probably the best potential and I thought I should wait until the tablet Aldiko Mantano matures I see. But violence is Aldiko closed 100% of Xoom. For some reason it was better on the Samsung Galaxy, but was always close to occasionally force. Mantano I have not found.

    3) User Interface
No doubt the professional user interface built quality. Table of Contents a collapsible tree. Very clean and intuitive.

    4) Speed
This is another factor that put on the Mantano Aldiko. Side by side on large mirrors EPUB is very smooth Mantano wait while Aldiko mainly on each page that I had to return at least 2-5 seconds.

When it comes to PDF. Flies. 80MB PDF open it in a very short time.

    5) annotation, select
Aldiko about this feature. Maybe other readers have had these features, but lack ideal for rendering of my files, I could not even go that far on the other.

    6) Customized support
Factor. This makes me believe that the reader will no doubt be the best in the other past, at least until Mantano. Again, as I believe Mantano is already by far the best. But everyone has its advantages and disadvantages. When I reply to all in a reader developer hopes one of them eventually became my ideal reader, unfortunately, has not quite their jobs at least in a timely manner. Mantano developers are very responsible.

    Known issues:

    1) Content: Big table of contents takes forever to load. In fact, it was not until I saw strength appeared Close option. If I wait, then he finally settled and working well. But for 500 MB file it took minutes to close the TOC load.

    2) pair of sub-window user interface is not optimized tablet.

Two, I just e-mail was sent to developers today as they have just released tablet optimized version today. They have already responded and I thought, this will be fixed in the next version.

If you’ve ever tried, just lend a helping during the trial. That’s what I did and on my sixth day. I knew that’s what I wanted. So I bought one.
